Chapter Seventeen

Caitlin cannot seem to convey the right message to her father about Devon -- whether she realizes he is dead or not.  What is the difficulty she has with regard to communicating her thoughts and feelings about Devon to her father?  Be sure to cite examples from the text.

  3. the reason her father could not under stand because she kept on saying "I want Devon to take me to the mall" (that was in Caitlins words!!!) if she said "i know Devon can't take me to the mall, but
    thats what i would like."

  4. she has trouble communicating with her father because of her asbergers which makes her take things exactly. Like she says "the devon who is dead" when she is talking to her dad about devon. it made her dad want to cry.

  7. She just doesn't understand that Devon is gone enough to explane it to her father. And she doesn't know how to talk to her father about this.
